Dusan's is real world music, in which sounds and emotions from distant cultures mix together to form a new, yet very personal musical statement

Dusan Bogdanovic's music is particularly colored by the guitarist's homeland Yugoslavia, although this does not take the form of pure reminiscences. One the one hand, his previous collaboration with jazz musicians such as James Newton, Charlie Haden, Anthony Cox and Arto Tunçboyaciyan is a measure of his professional experience. On the other, he has had great success as a soloist and composer, especially through his inspired combination of classical, contemporary and ethnic music.

In his solo work, Bogdanovic takes eastern European melodies, changes their rhythm according to African and Indonesian models, before mixing all of this with classical forms and structures as if it were the most natural thing to do. Elegant, yet simple, modest, yet colorful, the twelve pieces on the Intuition album 'Yano Mori' make one almost forget that it only took six strings to produce them.
