It doesn't always have to be the 'Trout' Quintet: fabergé-quintett, together with Yoko Kikuchi, piano, turn here to two quintets featuring the double bass by Ralph Vaughan Williams and Hermann Goetz. Both composers, each of whom chose the 'fateful' key of C minor for their works, extend the scope of the music by replacing the second violin with the bass, adding more depth to the sound.
