Spain was a meeting place of cultural interaction between groups belonging to the three monotheistic religions and different ethnicities. Muslim and Jewish musicians shared the same emotional experience, the same way of life, the same modes of expression. It is in this same spirit that Mohammed Briouel and Françoise Atlan approach the repertoire of Judeo-Spanish songs and Arab-Andalusian songs.
