All of the album's songs were recorded on December 23, 1961. While the six trio tracks originally appeared on the LP, the seventh tune (added here as a bonus) taped on that date, which included tenor saxophonist Ike Quebec as a guest star, was issued on Quebec's album Blue and Sentimental.
