For more than 15 years the internationally celebrated JBBG - Jazz Bigband Graz has been making a name for itself with its ingenious and very own sound, which is somewhere between jazz, pop, minimal, world music elements and jazz music attitude. Driven by the musical vision of Kalnein and Schaffer, the JBBG has broken into absolutely new musical territory for jazz orchestras with their last three productions.
Now the two of them present a new project that gives JBBG a new facet: JBBG Smål - GRAN RISERVA, JBBG in pocket size, so to speak. The band combines expressive and colourful melodies with enough space for musical surprises and a large improvisational arc. For this production the exceptional French-Vietnamese guitarist Nguyên Lê and Austria's icon on alto saxophone and flute Wolfgang Puschnig were invited as special guests.
