'Awyu-Dumut' by Lower Parts of Human Sludge (Serbia) is the first EP published by the band, containing five of many songs conceived and polished over the band's many years of active playing.
The EP is a conceptual story about the Korowai people from Papua New Guinea, mostly inspired by their past traditions of ceremonial cannibalism which led to the appearance and spread of the deadly 'kuru' disease (aka 'shaking death'), as well as male witch hunts which followed when the tribes perceived the unusual deaths as consequences of sorcery.
The sound is a mix of brutal death metal and slam, switching between chaotic fast-paced riffs, heavy slam infused build-ups and back-breaking breakdowns. The band combines two complementary vocals, providing low and dirty gutturals, high-pitched squeals and demonic growls, teleporting the listener to a ritualistic and death-filled world.
