Rockshots Records proudly presents Margantha, an Italo-Finnish black metal band born from a shared artistic vision rooted in darkness, atmosphere and immersive storytelling. Formed by experienced musicians from the extreme music scene, the project was founded on the idea of anonymity--removing names, past bands and expectations to let the music speak for itself.
Their debut EP, 'Blood Moon Sacrifice' is a concept work inspired by an old legend passed down orally through generations. The tale--told to the vocalist by his grandmother--recounts the haunting presence of a werewolf in a remote hunters' village. This myth gave rise to a collection of songs crafted not just to be heard, but to be experienced in full immersion.
The band explains: 'We always begin with the concept. The music follows naturally--often from a guitar riff or arpeggio, developed through a collaborative process. We're not interested in technical exhibitionism. Every choice serves the narrative.' The result is raw, evocative, and direct--true to the spirit of black metal, yet enriched with cinematic depth.
Musically, Margantha draws inspiration from the atmospheres of Mgła, the intensity of Uada and Gaerea, and the epic bleakness of Naglfar and Behemoth, while also echoing the legacy of pioneers like Celtic Frost, Venom and King Diamond.
