Down the rabbit hole, the listener encounters a world where rich compositions, complex rhythmic textures, and imaginative improvisations intertwine.
Rabbit Hole is an international trio led by saxophonist Pauli Lyytinen, bringing together the musical visions of three creative explorers. This electro-acoustic ensemble features Lyytinen on saxophone, EWI, drum machine, and live effects; Norwegian musician Andreas Løwe on processed piano and synthesizers; and Swiss drummer Julian Sartorius. Down the rabbit hole, the listener encounters a sonic world where rich compositions, complex rhythmic textures, and imaginative improvisations intertwine. The band's motto comes from Lewis Carroll's famous line in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland: 'Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.'
Pauli Lyytinen was awarded the Emma-award for Jazz Album of the Year in 2025 and is currently nominated together with Niillas Holmberg for the Indie Award 2026 in the Jazz category. Lyytinen is a saxophonist and composer working primarily in jazz, experimental, electro-acoustic, and contemporary music. Over his 20-year artistic career, he has been active not only in Helsinki but also in São Paulo, Gothenburg, Aarhus, and Stockholm, released more than 30 albums, and performed in over 30 countries worldwide. In 2025, Lyytinen also took part in the interdisciplinary Symbiocene project and co-leads the internationally successful band Elifantree together with Anni Elif.
Swiss percussionist and drummer Julian Sartorius, known as an enthusiastic explorer of rhythm and sound, appeared as a guest on Elifantree's massive double album Hachi, released in 2021. Sartorius also creates the Hidden Tracks sound walk project, in which the audience moves through an urban or natural environment while Sartorius continuously plays objects found in the surroundings as he walks.
Andreas Vold Løwe is a Norwegian jazz pianist based in Oslo with a strong interest in electronic sound processing. He is known for his work with projects such as Splashgirl, Frida Ånnevik, Karl Seglem, and his own ensemble, Andreas Vold Løwe.
