Rimmar is the realization of a long-standing artistic vision--an ambitious solo project shaped by years of passion, experimentation and a deep connection to both metal and electronic music. 'It's a dream come true lasting for years. Now everything can begin!' says Marco Rinaldi, the mind behind Rimmar who writes all music, lyrics and arrangements. His aim is to fuse the intensity of classic, progressive and industrial metal with the pulse of disco and electronic elements creating something both familiar and unexpectedly new.
The debut album, 'Raises', embodies this vision. 'This album was born in the past, matured in the present and projected into the future like a spaceship.' Influenced by 80s heavy metal, 90s prog, early 2000s rock, dance music and even Franco Battiato, the album bridges eras while maintaining a strong emotional core.
Though Rinaldi is the project's sole author, the album features renowned Italian vocalists: Fabio Lione (Rhapsody), Marco 'Biuller' Bertuccioli, Marco Andreotti, Elisa Rispoli and Kyo Calati (MindAhead). The live band includes respected musicians from the Italian scene: Alessandro Cola (Eldritch), Tommy Pellegrini (Oracle Sun) and Marco Moretti (Madvice) ensuring a powerful live performance.
Lyrics stem from dreams, readings and reflections on the material and spiritual. Music always comes first: 'The word is a servant of music in my case,' Marco explains. Songs develop from riffs or patterns, then evolve into fully arranged, layered compositions.
Thematically, 'Raises' revolves around elevation--raising awareness, rising from indifference. 'All we are interested in is 'raising' the volume, the intensity, rising from the rubble...' From the spiritual Mighty Messenger to the dystopian 8 and the reimagined Cruel Summer, each track adds depth.
