A ring is a completed Circle, the comfort and security of enclosure. Soundwaves move in ring forms, from point of origin and out into infinity. A ring symbolizes many things: balance, fidelity, perfection.'Ring'is also the name chosen for Patti Clemens and Barbara Imhoff's collaborative project. After many years of orchestral work, Barbara is known for her melodic contributions as a founding member of the tribal ensemble, Beasts of Paradise, while Patti hails from a more pop background as a founding member of the techno-worldbeat group D'Cukoo. With âSoul to the Pleasure', the two have created a sensuous body of music, moving from African-tinged pop to lush ballads. The album is linked by a series of ambient interludes created by producer Kenneth Newby, a musician whose solo work is steeped in ethno-ambient exploration.
