SOLEDAD was founded in 1995 when five young students in Brussels discovered their common passion for the music of Astor Piazzolla.
SOLEDAD was founded in 1995 when five young students in Brussels discovered their common passion for the music of Astor Piazzolla. One of the first ensembles to specialize in the interpretation of Tango Nuevo, they used the line-up known from the Piazzolla Quintet: accordion/bandoneon, violin, piano, guitar and double bass. Combining classical virtuosity and vibrant, jazzy emotion SOLEDAD aroused the interest of several contemporary composers and brought the musicians of the group to write their own arrangements, colored by their various influences.
