California Feeling: The Songs of Stephen Kalinich and Friends presents 23 of Stevie's wonderful poems and songs are put together on one eclectic CD!

The songs of Stephen Kalinich are all featured on this compilation. The poet and lyricist, best known for his work with The Beach Boys, who inspired Dennis Wilson to have his first songs on an album - Little Bird and Be Still - classics that are given a lovely reworking on this CD. The song Little Bird is sung by Carnie and Wendy Wilson (Wilson Phillips) and the Honeys perform a vibrant version of 'California Feeling'. Another song, 'Ocean' was recorded with a young musician named Paul Steel whose haunting vocal really define this song. '111 Cresmont Road' hears Stephen in sparkling form. Other highlights of this collection are 'Contemplating Life' sung by Dan Knutson. Probyn Gregory from the Brian Wilson band gives a beautiful delicate reading of the fairly recently unearthed Dennis Wilson classic, 'A Time to live in dreams'; Dennis's son sings the beautiful ballad 'Touch Your Skin'. One of Stephen's best known poems, 'The Magic Hand', is given a beautiful reading by none other than acclaimed actor Stacey Keach with great musical backing by Sarah Al Mulla. This whole album takes us on a great journey through the mind and lyrical poetry of Stephen Kalinich.
