The album is anchored in tradition with five Christmas songs by Jean Sibelius, from which the traditional arrangements of Anna Huuskonen, who sings in the choir, can be heard. In the familiar repertoire as well as Claude Debussy’s brisk Christmas carol, he notices that the sound formation of the sopranos and tenors is not very uniform, but what about the interpretations shaped by Jani Sivén as elegantly fresh as the nocturnal keto of the shepherds.The best part of the album, however, is the steadily constant Christmas feeling mixed with wonder and happiness that the new but still Christmas music in the listener creates. Familiar songs have their sides, but so are new ones.
